Junior Buyer (Packaging) (ref:4094)

The company is an integral link in the supply chain for a major retailer. The role will be based in Cambridgeshire. They are looking to recruit a Junior Buyer (Packaging) You will be responsible for procuring, controlling, and co-ordinating all packaging requirements and other materials for the business.

Responsibilities will include

  • To ensure that the cost and value of all packaging purchases are optimized
  • To appoint and manage suppliers to meet the business requirements.
  • Ensure all packaging stocks are controlled both on site and at third party packers.
  • Arrange delivery and receipt of all packaging items with the operational team
  • Maintain packaging specifications
  • Ideal person
  • Will have packaging experience
  • Have good communication and negotiation skills.
  • IT literate and numerate.

The Role:

  • As a senior technical manager you will be responsible for ensuring all raw materials are safe and comply with the relevant BRC standards
  • You will be the main point of contact for all the growers and suppliers on all technical issues

Our client based in East Yorkshire are looking to recruit a Technical Manager. They are a major supplier of cut flowers and houseplants into the UK retailers. They have direct links with growers from all around the world, enabling full control from source right through to customer requirements.

The Role

  • A site based role you will be responsible for all quality, technical and ethical issues
  • The management of day to day relationships with the retailer
  • The management of the Quality function through the quality control system

Ideal Candidate

  • Preferably but not exclusively, experience of fresh flowers or houseplants, or similar products
  • Knowledge of UK retailers

Ideally candidates would have some agronomy experience; this could either be field agronomy or glasshouse experience.   • It would be expected that the ideal candidate would have experience in managing a team of site based grower managers
